Newcomers Adult English as a Second Language Group

An ESL support program for parents of children attending the Newcomers Homework Club. Tutors will support learners with speaking, listening, reading and writing skills to achieve practical learning goals.

Where:             Regent Park/Duke of York Public School, 20 Regent St. near Dundas St. East and Parliament

When:             Monday or Wednesday evenings from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.

Alexandra Park Community Centre Adult ESL Group

An ESL support program for Chinese-speaking parents of children attending the pre-school program at the Alexandra Park Community Centre. Tutors will assist learners with basic English communication skills, including vocabulary, pronunciation and speaking.

Where:             105 Grange Ave. close to Dundas St. West and Spadina Ave. in the Alexandra Park housing community

When:             Fridays from 1:30 – 3:00 p.m.

Native Women’s Resource Centre

A centre providing various support services for Aboriginal women, including basic literacy.

Where:             191 Gerrard St. East at Sherbourne St.

When:             Weekdays (specific times to be determined)
